ROGELIO.....in the meantime while satch parties hardcore with PLAYBOY bunnies, and continues to write the worlds greatest music...ok well......the latter.....I would like to offer my tips on writing instrumental guitar music.......Firstly......improvise..leave alot of room for improv if you dont know how to improvise try to use alot of cool and crazy whammy/tapping stuff....writing a short verse on the guitar is a great place to start....first write a backing track ...using chords or perhaps a key board or even just a drum machine..if you dont have any of that and just like writing on the guitar thats ok.....ok so you write a cool melody for example the intro to Always With You Always With Me..I will hum it for you...DA DA DA----DA DA DA DA DA DA-----DA DA DA DA DA DA DAAA.......Ok once you have memorized your little melody line write around it...start with your new found creation then do some improv then go back to your memorized line then go to some chorus you have written then improvise again then finish with the line of music you wrote.......remember keep playing and learning all sorts of cool stuff.become a master class guitarists.... but when writing great guitar instrumentals try to keep at least some of the song simple, but not too simple at least not hmm well i'll let you figure that out.....thanx....

IM WATCHING ANIMAL COPS-- some of the mistreatment people give animals is unreal, i always get sad when i watch. my animals get treated like royalty in my house.i have a 3 legged that i saved from death, a half australian, half germanshepard that i raised since it was 2 weeks old, a 14 year old pomeranian that ive had for 10 years , she belonged to an old lady who passed away, and another cat i got from the humane society and i just had to have her , she got 8toes on left paw and 9 on the other. her paws are huge, i had to have her declawed because her claws kept getting caught in the carpet. my dogs name is JAZZ, thats the shepard, thats where i got my nick name for js site . i love my pets they are like children to me . and yes, i have to clean constantly, i hate a dirty house.---sorry , im rambling -- maybe its time for bed

I haven't read or posted here for quite a while, but apparently (and I haven't looked) there are dates for a European G3 featuring Joe, Steve and Yngwie on VH1.com now.

BEEZER: I meant to tell you the other day that if you're looking for a great pickup set for an RG or any other guitar, I can't rate an AirNorton (neck) and an Air Zone(bridge) highly enough (both Dimarzio pu's). Get them F-spaced. What this will give you is bridge like punch and tightness in the neck(great for Petrucci styled tremelo picked passages) and smoothness in the bridge pickup. The Air pickup design also reduces string pull by 40% giving you purer tones and longer sustain while still having good solid output. The thing I like is that the AirZone especially gives me total clarity under distortion. I've got samples of the setup, email me if you want to hear it.

Hmmm...did someone mention a European G3 tour?

I remember that someone here posted some info a month or so ago about a possible tour. The person linked to a page with G3 tour dates at VH1, but the information was removed before some people here had the chance to see the page. I saw it, though...and so did a few other people here.

Looking through VH1's site again, I found a G3 page here. Once again, there are tour dates listed here. Although the two pages I linked to don't mention Satriani, Vai, or Malmsteen specifically, you can go here, here, and here to see that each individual artist has the same tour dates listed.

Does this sound like a tour? Keep in mind that these wonderful people at VH1 are the same people who think Joe Satriani was the man behind the Merry Axemas discs. ;-) Hehehe.

Seriously, though... I don't know if there will be a tour. I trust Pollstar the most these days, and they don't have any information about a European G3 tour. Also, I don't live in Europe, but I don't recognize any of these venues. Do any European T2Jers think that these venues are the right size for a G3 show? Do any of you feel like looking around at individual venue websites to see if they also have G3 information listed?

Hmmm...do I win the award for the most hyperlinks in a single post? Yeah, I went overboard, but I kinda did that on purpose. :-)

EDIT - Well, it seems that the Joe Satriani / Merry Axemas link doesn't want to work for me now. I read the article just a few minutes ago, but I can't seem to get the page to work now. Anyway, you can see the headline if you click here.

Hey, all those hyperlinks made my post look colorful! I should use them more often...haha.

f flat - Joe wasn't eligible for a Grammy nomination this year because he didn't release any new music before this year's cutoff date.

ovation1 - Are the picks that you sent Zachary custom picks similar to what these guys (Vai, Gilbert, etc.) actually use, or are they just average picks with a printed graphic / signature on them?

Do The Stu-well, it would be great if G3 comes to Europe and the citys where tour will take place are logical. But I'm pesimistic with that and I will believe that when G3 will actually play in Europe.

I feel so depressed. Yes, holidays are here, but it's raining all the time. I can't even go out for a walk or anything. I'm just sitting here and read your messages(they keep me alive). At least I have my guitar and lots of Joe's CDs.

Do The Stu: Very good man, your crack reporting was really informative and explained the situation well, lol, the world need's more reporters like you!! ;-).... btw, the picks I sent Zach are just like the IBY picks in Dr. VAI's Jewel Box, except these are different colors, and they feel a little stiffer to me.... They play great!!.... The Gilberto ones are the exact type that Paul uses.... Much smaller and more suitable for crazy pick attack, lol.... Sad thing is, I've never found JS picks here and for that matter never seen a JS Model Guitar on a shelf here, although I'm sure "Mainland" Japan has them....

Zachary: I love the stiffness of those picks too, lol, and they have them in my fave guitar store Music Boss, as you can see on the package.... They sell them in little tackle box kinda displays with only handfuls in there.... I'll see if I can get a box of em' for ya next time I make a trip there after the holiday's.... Oh, and have fun tearin' em up bro!!.... lol....

Jazzer13: I know what you mean about watching the cruelty on Animal Cops! How some people can be so mean to animals that are so trusting and dependent upon them is beyond comprehension.

I am an animal lover too. Currently have 4 dogs: Shepherd Mix, Golden Retriever Mix, a Beagle and a tiny dog that is a mix of something :). Also have 2 cats...............

We really don't have the room for all these animals, but we just got our second cat about a week and a half ago so you can see that doesn't matter much to an animal lover.
