Okay here's one that isn't a riddle, and it most definitely isn't a trick question. The aim: to find the longest word (in English preferably - but if you can find a longer one in another language that's also interesting) with only one syllable.
For example: stretched - 9 letters, screeched - 9 letters, straights - 9 letters.

I don't have a playlist, I tend to listen to whole albums at a time, (computer lacks storage space to use it as a decent jukebox) so instead I'll just mention the most played albums recently:
Blindside - Silence (2002)
Blindside - About A Burning Fire (2004)
Payable On Death (2003)
Tommy Emmanuel - Up From Down Under (@1987)
Deep Blue Something - Byzantium (1998?)
Sevendust - Home (1999)
Sevendust - Animosity (2001)
Deftones - White Pony (2001?)
Incubus - Make Yourself (1999)
Screammedia - Breathe (2004)
Probot (if I had it) (2004)
Living Sacrifice - The Hammering Process (if I had it) (2000)

A clean sweep at the oscars! eleven out of eleven. it's about time genre entertainment got it's due ( yes it was overall better than mystic river and lost in translation ).
this is a first, by the way. no fantasy or science fiction film has ever won the big prize. this is a breakthrough for popular entertainment .
Is there love in space? I think so.

Hey Zonin thanks for telling us about the whole concert and what happened. The only part I was dissappointed NOT to hear was the part where Yngwie smashed his guitar over JANIE HENDRIX's head. I know Yngwie was'nt there but that woud have been perfect for him. I'm really glad Joe and everybody else got to pay respect to Jimi and have a good time on his account. Its just sad that you have to go through Janie Hendrix to do a Hendrix Jam. But I'm glad everybody had a good time that day.

Congrats to LOTR! 11-11
death cube k - I don't think it took more than a week for me to get back to "normal" (eating solid food just as easily as I did before having my wisdom teeth pulled). I had to eat macaroni and cheese and easy stuff like that nonstop for the first 2-3 days, but things got much easier after that.
The most important thing is to take all of your painkillers and keep ice on your mouth for at least the first 48 hours. That may seem excessive at first, but the ice REALLY helps. I stopped icing earlier than I should have, and things started to hurt.
Artanis I - Sorry for spoiling it for you. You're a smart guy...I believe you when you say you would have figured it out. :-)
Jazzy Boy - That's a cool thread, but I can't contribute because I usually listen to albums as a whole.
I'm too tired to come up with a recent albums list now, but I'll do that tomorrow...
...Austin...

hello Joe,
I would like to know if you like the music my band makes as much as we like yours. You can hear some songs of us at our homepage: www.onelanebridge.de.vu.
Will you give a concert in the eastern part of germany one day?
How do you produce the "strange scream" with you vibrato-system?
please answer
greatings Matthias

trutina - jeez.. a 12 hour round trip to meet up with lil' ol' me??.. jeez that's extreme.. are you sure about this?? .. lol
slanshroom - no probs.. send me a backing track on either CD or MD and I'll cut a shred for you... sling it onto CD and return it..
Phryg - ever thought about converting the bridges to l/h.. if you look on the underside of the bridge you should see that the markings are there all ready for drilling... then you just need to get a l/h arm...
962 - one of the G3 gigs I went to was Schenker and Uli Roth.. so no Vai either... and Roth was fantastic..
Yoda - sounds cool.. DS is a very astute writer from what I gather....

Jelly - That's crap, IMO. I couldn't make out any of those "lyrics" until I opened them, and even then they were pretty dubious. It's only a coincidence that they sound vaguely like other words.

I just can't understand why anyone would want to listen to the darkness. Talk about wannabees. I have done some garage recordings when I was ten years old better than that. No talent these days except for Satch, Vai, Morse, Vinnie Moore, Phil Keaggy, Gary Hoey, The Hellecasters, Marty Friedman, Blues Saraceno, Bettencourt, Adrian Legg, Neal Schon, Craig Chaquico. Please Joe give guitar music another shot in the arm to relieve us of all of the crap out there that record labels have dubbed so called music. If I were some of these old hair bands from the 80's I would sue the crap off of the darkness for stealing all original ideas. Talk about suck. Their singer sounds like he has his testicles in a vice grip or something. I could fart better than that guy sounds. Anyway, can't wait for the new album Joe. Almost bid on a chrome boy the other day on ebay. Watch out for the scams guys. A lot of people trying to rip you off. I just realized how awesome of a solo Joe does on War and House full of bullets. Ear candy I tell you. The new Vai dvd rocks as well. I would love to have the guitar that he uses on Bad horsie. Simply amazing. Joe did you play with Steve Morse last week with Deep Purple? How was it?

Help! - I'm in a rut. It's quite a bad one this time. My guitar playing seems to be going downhill, I seem completely incapable of creating music of my own despite trying for the last year or so and its driving me to depression (well not quite that extreme but getting there)
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated at this time as im very close to putting the guitar down for good.
Hope everyone else is cool!

Clarky yeah I've thought of that, but it'd entail chopping some extra wood away to cater for the arm, and also getting a tap & die set to put a thread on the new hole :-( besides that the bridge doesn't look entirely symmetrical to me - there seems to be a little less metal on the non-arm side.
Olly here's a paraphrased quote from a book I have regarding ruts....
Play on the tunes that you are currently playing, but at least twice as slow. Ask yourself "is there anything really important in music that I've forgotten about?" Feed a loaf or two of bread to some birds Imagine a time or circumstance where you could never play the guitar again Go for a long walk Cry Stop playing the guitar and/or listening to music for 1 2 3 4 5 6 or 7 days Stop playing the guitar but listen to a lot of music for 1 2 3 4 5 6 or 7 days Change your strings & polish your guitar Send your guitar back to the factory to be retuned or recycled.
I've used some of these, and find they do help. Good luck bro, and don't give up!
