I happen to prefer the taste of Coke Zero over diet Coke or even regular Coke.

Diet sodas are being found to be worse for you than regular sodas. Aspertame may actually be to blame for a large portion of obesity.

I prefer coffee...me and Wolf2...lots of coffee.

ATLANTA SHOW ATTENDEES_Anyone else be standing with me and the Mrs. in line on Sunday for the General Admission seats?

I really screwed up. The section off to Joe's side was reserved and I could have gotten descent seats there. I did "click and pick" and jumped on those 4th row seats ( which had been reservered for VIP and back stage packages only hours earlier.....AHHH! BURLY!!! Anyway come by and say hi. I'll be the bald guy with the "Got Riffs" t shirt (My Chickenfoot shirt is too big for me)

Does anyone know if they will be selling the Chickenfoot hats @ the show?

I do want to get healthy enough to see Travis Larson's band come back to my local music store. Then I'll have to save up for the next G-3 or Satch album/concert. Maybe even a Chickenfoot concert. Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the Chickenfoot concert!!!!!

Re:Vai's list. The only tunes I like on there are "Meeting of the Spirits" and "Is there Love in Space?". "'Cause We've Ended as Lovers" is decent, of course, but I have read him praise "Where Were You?" in the past over that one.

I dunno, just looks suspicious to me.He picked the most typical instrumentals from pretty much each artist, as if that was the only song he knew by each one.

Midnight by Hendrix looks to be the only other Non-Most well know track.

Perhaps he didn't mean for these to be his favorites, but rather his view of the most important ones in the history of Rock guitar instrumentals. That makes a little more sense to me, because the choices are so typical.

His picks are along the lines of Beethoven's 9th symphony and Greensleeves or something.

Hendrix-Midnight.Not too typical. Malmsteen-Black Star-Signature tune. Satriani-Odd choice.Fair enough. Mahavishnu-Meeting...-Track 1 off of their first album. Zappa-Black Napkins-Pretty standard for an instrumental choice. In his box set he names 3-4 other Zappa tunes as his favorite instrumental, i.e RDNZL, Strictly Genteel, etc. Santana-Europa.Whatever. SRV-Lenny.At least he didn't say Little Wing. Tequila.Seriously? Holdsworth-That must be the only track he has ever heard.Every 80s rock guitarist mentioned that song.I would have picked something off of Secrets or his stuff with Tony Williams.

But hey, he can like whatever he wants if those actually are his favorites. It just looks a little odd to me.Call me crazy.

A few pages behind so I'll have to play catch up later....

Blue Moon - remind me, the Eric thing - they'd have difficulty getting him out on tour?

(post above edited - my comment was based on something I believed I had first read on here... however, I have searched and am unable to find anything to confirm the story)

Cheese - ah, that's great news about Chrisper. So, you're stuck on a different time zone hey?? Deja-vu. Don't worry, it'll only last a coupla weeks ho ho. Do we get any video of escalator dancing? Could be the new craze......

Michelle - "SATCHAHOLICS - I think we can safely say YES! ".... ah, very good - we can Safley say YES!... I see what you did there ; ) which one was the typo?

Don1963 - nice... nice... did I say nice!

Skippy - I saw that sneaky swig but I won't tell. Who's soob though? lol

Here's a little Steve Lukather clip more to follow....

Dear Mr. Satriani,

Knowing your time is extremely limited I’ll hop straight to the point. While watching your many stage performances on Youtube, something came over me to attempt to put words to your song (ten words). I was doing my stretching exercises and thought of ten words that (sort of) fit. After that, I was hooked~! Finishing that song for my fiancée, I soon began on others.

Obviously, you pour your heart into your work, which makes me wonder what’s going through that mantle of yours as you play, which also helped with inspiration toward putting lyrics to some of your work. That, and of course the titles themselves were a big clue.

Simply for your enjoyment, (and my voracious curiosity) would you allow me the honor of having you see if the lyrics somewhat match the mindset which you had intended for a specific song?……………..Please???

Having the gifted, and very busy musician, Sir Satchmo, actually do this, would truly be a treat to always remember~!

Warm Wishes to You and Yours,

Ray Alford Jr. Ps. You’re a funny guy~!!!

I think most of EOC can work live, even without Eric Caudieux or another keyboard player. Devil's Slide was played as a three-piece on the 2001 G3 tour. I think Borg Sex would sound neat as an encore, with an occasional guest guitarist playing Eric's part in the middle.

As for songs that haven't yet been done live, the rock remix of Flavor Crystal 7 (click here) proves that that song can work. I also think Champagne? could sound very cool.

Pip55 - The trip was very cool...I'll definitely share the pics when I get them.

The viewing platform you mentioned isn't part of Grand Canyon National Park, it's owned and operated by a nearby indian tribe and is kind of difficult to get to. It's a neat idea, but it's also very expensive (about three times the cost of admission to the entire national park). And I did some stuff at the park that's much better, as pictures will soon show...

I didn't do a helicopter ride, but I did take a hike down into the canyon that was about three miles round-trip. That was very fun, but quite tiring...it feels so weird to hike down at the beginning and up at the end.

There's a 12-mile round-trip hike you can do that goes all the way down to the Colorado River, but you need to bring camping supplies as it's too much to do in one day. I'd love to do that one another time...

Blue_Moon - You need to come back to California...it's been two nearly two months since I've been to In-N-Out, I think. I can't believe it!
cheese101 - Excellent news about Chris!
michelle - "I have no idea what that means in terms of a "healed" bone if you can still see an old fracture?"

When you fracture a bone, it heals in the same way you'd fix a sidewalk crack by filling it with cement. New material is added to fill the gap, and because it's a different age and consistency than the original material it looks a slightly different color...but in the end it's just about as strong as it originally was.

The mistake is an easy one to make, especially early on when the doctors are more concerned with bleeding and other things that'll kill someone before a broken bone will.

"I took a cd to AC to give to T for you, but we gave it to Joe. lol!"

Hmmm...if I happen to meet Joe at one of the shows I'm going to next month, should I ask him for it? ;-)

elpp - Jack In The Box? Argh...I don't like their food at all.

I did eat at Sonic on the way back from the Grand Canyon. Very delicious.

And about that guitarist...I found some cool videos on her page of SV's Hand On Heart. There are three videos, recorded a few years apart...it's cool to see/hear how her playing has progressed.

Don1963 - Thanks again for sharing your review!
Ibanezplyr - If you're healthy it'd be awesome if you could make it to the Chickenfoot show in Berkeley. I'll be there, as will roo...you've been around T2J forever and it'd be nice to finally meet face to face.
Ethn Hayabusa - I did notice that the list included buttons so you can listen to sound clips...maybe Steve had to go with more mainstream choices so audio could actually be included?

I know when Joe and other people do similar things (iTunes celebrity playlists, etc.), the choices tend to be pretty popular.

I have a few more posts to read, but this one is LOOONG so I'll finish up later.

Do The Stu: I love those songs on the SF DVD, probably because they're played by real musicians with a real feel into it. They don't even sound the same. What I don't like is the synthetic tone of the album. Lack of feeling, but that's highly subjective and dependant on each one's sensitivity. In my case, it doesn't work. To be honest, EOC sounds to me like an experiment that Joe himself has decided to discontinue. If he was that happy with the result, I think he would have continued to develop that kind of sound which as we know, didn't happen.

McKenna: your use of "lesser fans" is imo a little presumptuous. Is it part of being a “great” fan enjoying everything JS does?

HI All- I too gave EOC a listen. I have to say I was surprised that I liked a lot of it . Techno has not been a genre I have spent much time listening to. But it's Joe and it has his stamp on it . I loved Champagne?. So bubbly . I notice not many mention that song. It has to be the ultimate feel good song for me. And notice I said for me, I know as fans we all have different tastes . I enjoyed Power cosmic part 1, Attack, Devils Slide(but mostly the live in SF version), Flavor Crystal 7, Until We Say Goodbye. and I am sure a couple others I can't remember at the moment. . Isn't great that Joe has albums that have different styles that are beautiful and can appeal to our different preferences? I think I like his different albums because I love the way he writes the songs and the way he plays that guitar. And that his heart for his fans and people is HUGE. (the sense of humor is added plus)

Okay, I have rambled on enough for now .
