nick - it must be the wrong song... lmao...

playing it makes your eyes water..

Museman - I was thinking execatly the same... lol...

flight to Turkey anyone??...

noppa - it's a commonly known fact that if you play with your organ too much that it does in fact make you go blind... lmao...

and it's true.. I have attempted to play Gypsy jazz on a radiator.. and it sounded like shit too.....

however, I did manage to grow some serious biceps and triceps sqeezing the thing in and out... [ht] slansh - funny as fuck... I liked 2 and 3... lol...

phryg - you know what I'm getting at... lol.... I'm talking about playing music with unfreindly fingerings rather than simply charging up and down minor scales.... lol..
ethn - good point about 'canned licks'... in by book.. the great improv guys are 'compositional' in their approach... and that is quite a thing..
jonrobert - on the Yngwie thing.. check out Marching out.. not just mindless shredding in there.. there is some real tricky shit at lower tempi too... and I think that was the time that he was most inspired..
sorry if I missed anyone... busy week this one..

Anibur, I must say that the ticket sales announcement was a bit of a mess up, I don't know why they weren't on here when they had been on Steve's for ages, fortunately I found out on here and got my tickets on the first day. It's not like the shows weren't confirmed and hence not put on the site (obviously they ARE confirmed if tickets are on sale!). The G3 at the Albert Hall should be awesome, I love the place. Very jealous of those who live down there and who have got arena tickets, the atmosphere down there is always amazing. I've played there once, and it truly is a magical experience. Don't know if Joe and the guys have played there before, but they are in for a treat, a wonderful place.

Regarding tickets on ebay and all that, I think it's people like you that these people are prying on unfortunately. Also they were probably hoping that the shows would sell out real fast and that tickets would be like gold-dust, thus heightening their value. I remember when Audioslave played their only show here, tickets went in the blink of an eye, and people knew they would, so bought them up en masse and made a fortune selling them on ebay. If I ever met one of those people in the street I would tell them their fortune! The excuses come thick and fast 'I bought them for my mate but he can't make it now'. Probably 1 in 10 is genuine, but people come up with the same excuses all the time. It's like telling your teacher you don't have your homework because 'my printer broke/ran out of ink'- it's so commonly used that even if it's true they won't believe you!

Joe, im from the United Arab Emirates. We really need someone like you to turn on the rock scene here. PLease Please come here on tour, you wont be disapointed with the response, evryone here loves your music, especially oriental melody and belly dancer. evryone loves the arabic sound you get with the harmonic minor. this may be asking for too much, but i was wondering if it was possible to send you a copy of a song i made and perhaps get some feedback on it?

anyone know where to get satch merchandise?

Hey Joe, I was at the G3 show at the Greek Theatre last October. Amazing show! You, Vai and Yngwie really tear it up. After finally finishing listening to the CD and watching the DVD, I started thinking about the next American G3 tour (which I already can't wait for) and wondering when it will be, hopefully 2004 ;-), and who will be playing it. I'm assuming Vai will be doing it again since he's only missed one since the start. Eric Johnson might be a good candidate because this year make 4 years since the last one he did, which was 4 years after the first G3. Yngwie, obviously insanely good, would be rad to have play again. My last nominee is Buckethead. He is much more than the ex-slash-replacement, in fact his solo albums are pure shred. I saw him play at a very small show at Styles Music in La Verne, CA (I was less than 10 ft. away from him :D) and he would definately be an excellent candidate for G3. Keep everything up! You rock my socks off! G3 forever! -Joey

Funny guy... ;-) There are no best hours for L.A. traffic.

RyanShredder - pinch harmonic + whammy bar = harmonic scream
juju808 - Have you ever actually heard KWS's While We Cry? Give it a listen...it's a VERY cool song. Click here for a short sound clip from CD Universe.
Mikey Vai - No, you haven't voted on Round 3.
Clarky - Haha...you missed my sewing machine joke, but oh well. ;-)
Stu Clone - Thanks!
Ninjawailer - I was at the Greek Theatre gig as well. Cool...

How cool would it be if Joe and Steve suddenly switched guitars during a G3 jam, Joe would play the JEM and Steve the JS... Has this happened before?

I just been told that u cannot determine how good a person is without hearing them play unplugged.
is it me or does that sound totaly out? amp or no amp u still need skill.

Actually Greyfox I sound better with my amp but my case is more of a confidence type thing. If I play loud I love it and play more. If I play feebly and quiet then I get frightened that I sound bad and run over and get "amp'd"

Zsolt77 / b18cb0y - No, I don't think that has ever happened before. What would be the point, though?

Greyfox88 - It makes perfect sense. Amps and effects (distortion, reverb, delay) can easily cover up mistakes. Playing unplugged is playing "naked"...all that's there is you and the guitar. The music that you produce then is good because of how good you are, not because of how good your distortion pedal is.

Greyfox88 - There are electric and acoustic players who aren't very good. That's not the point of the comment.

Guitarists who are truly good guitarists sound great both plugged and unplugged. There are some guitarists who sound good plugged in, but once they play unplugged you realize they have problems (their timing sucks, their fingerings are sloppy, etc.).

Does that make sense?

It's all just you and 6 strings...if you sound bad on acoustic, you won't magically sound good on electric just because of effects. Although some people are better at one than the other because of their touch on the strings, and what type of music you play generally will vary between the two. Personally, I like to play both because I get something different out of them, sound-wise.
