Roy: I posted the wrong link.... This is the one I wanted to show you for the latest updates on Fukushima.... I know it is the govt. organization (IAEA), but the news we get here is sketchy to say the least! There are a lot of angry Japanese people because the information coming out has been so slow, and some speculate they were hiding information, which I believe is true. The IAEA has to report the true findings, and if you read the article, they say the the levels are decreasing, but the cleanup will never end IMO, and if the reactors are ever "black out" again, the catastrophe will increase tenfold with every passing hour.... Prime Minister Kan is supposed to resign after the situation gets more "stabilized", and the revolving door of PM's will continue, which will help nothing....

BigBunny: Thats a cool shot of Loki, lol, she has no fear!! And yup..Shiela E. was ON it..sexiest drummer I've ever seen too, lol....

OK, Google's home page doodle for tomorrow (Thursday), for what would have been Les Paul's 96th birthday, is the coolest ever. Not only can you play the strings, but you can record yourself...and play it back while you add new stuff on top of it (unintentional, or a nod to his advances in multitrack recording?). Check it out!

ovation1 - The more I think about the new Coldplay song, the more the circumstances bother me. The two people who wrote the song they borrowed from are listed in the proper writing credits for this new song. As uncreative as I feel that is, at least they're being honest and crediting the people who wrote the song's hook. Had they been just as honest a few years ago and credited Joe, he would have a Grammy with his name on it.
BigBunny - Yeah, it's pretty horrible. I hear a lot of U2, a little bit of the Killers, and nothing that's new or original. And I just can't get over how compressed the song is. It's a big mess of sound once the guitars come in...how can people even tolerate listening to it? I heard it on the radio today (in the carpool home from work) and it was still bad. Ugh...

Anyway, that's enough out of me for now...

...Austin...

Heya Stu: That is pretty cool. I've spent about 10 minutes on that now...i have way too much time on my hands.

Slanshroom: I see, i didnt realize that you weren't bashing McBride, my mistake, sorry :-)

Civgeek: yeah, i am VERY grateful, believe me. Without a guitar, i would be sitting twiddling my thumbs all day. I was just saying that a 13 year old doesn't need all those pedals unless they have the skills to use them properly...which most of them don't. Of course, i have no problem with anyone buying Joe pedals...

Joe, what are your plans? Are you going to do another tour of England (Yes hopefully) anytime soon? Will you ever do a masterclass like Steve does?

Bye

Mikey san....i hear ya, kinda scary about the lack of information being released, makes you wonder just how dangerous the situation is.Very little news about international help either, imo this is a global problem not only Japans, hoping national pride isnt getting in the way of progress and god forbid Japan has another major quake anytime soon...we need t get ya a stargate matey ;)

Do The Stu: I feel the same way you do about Coldplay, but for me, it is music like theirs that makes me "cringe", lol. Today, in this day and age, "radio friendly" music is not about talent or creative compositions; it is about making that "one liner" that will get you on the radio. People like Uncle Cracker are famous for it and now I can't get these sh*tty songs out of my head because I had to go ahead and mention it, lmao!!

Btw, thanks for the info on the Google homepage.... Fun stuff indeed!

RO'/: You hit the nail on the head about this being a "world problem", because the effects are far reaching and global. And one of the biggest problems for Japan right now is it's tourism industry..it has been handcuffed by doubt, and it is one of Japan's major industries.... Japan will recover, but it looks like it is going to take a lot longer than anyone realizes....

And btw, if I happen to ask you to beam me and my fam up, could you hook a brotha up!! lol ;-)

Joe,

I want to say thank you once again. I met you at the show in Kansas City last December with my son Henry. It was the experience of a lifetime. Two years ago your music was the sound track for my rehab after been hit head on by a truck while riding a bike. In April my youngest son, Endy, was diagnosed with cancer. He is doing very well with treatment. I wanted to tell you thank you for your music. Your music has gotten me through many a tough day at the hospital watching my son go through chemo. It has become the sound track of our lives (my wife's description). If you ever wonder - you ARE making a big difference in a lot of peoples lives.

Blessings,

Mike

Man, work kicked my ass today. The 99 degree temp didn't help either. No fun working like a man in a woman's body.

Got home to find my new DAVY KNOWLES LIVE FROM MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA cd waiting for me. Just can't get enough of that little Davy Wavy! Fantastic cd. BUY IT!

Tune into @TLC tonight to catch Corey from SLIPKNOT getting his Paul Tribute Tattoo on #NYink at 10pm tonight. See a preview ~ NYI.

Man, I'm so spent it's retarded. Hope I can stay awake long enough to watch at least some of NYInk. lol! The tattooist Megan used to be at the shop a few blocks from here. My daughter knows her, and I've met her already. She thinks BIG and is full of confidence ~ and that, my friends, is how you become a success.

Bike1mike - best of luck to you and your son. Joe's music helps us all in different ways, for many needs and emotions.

Michelle - I got 4 copies of Live in Melbourne, can u hear me on it???? It was a fab show by Davy to a small crowd in a suburban pub and I met him afterwards, he's lovely.

My friend Neil had an op and more tests this week, they found the primary cancer in his throat. Hopefully they can zap it pretty quick and chemo the mofo out of there.

It's a long weekend here for the Queen's birthday - perfect.

Joe - any ideas on the SF restaurants we should try?

Its our turn for a tour Joe!!

Ro'/ san: Thanks for the offer bro, cause I may have to use it someday..but first, play loud enough for the next door neighbors to move, and we'll be there..and all the ales are on me!! :-) Btw Roy, my old boss is waiting to move to Spain but his transfer has been delayed. He will be working at the embassy there (on their plane) and he is really looking forward to it, but he may have to wait till next year. Lucky s.o.b.!!

bike1mike: Godspeed to you and your family! Your taking the right medication (Satch music) :-)

michelle: Happy to hear your cd arrived, and thanks for telling us about him.... I was stoked to have Mike Keneally' Bakin' @ The Potato waiting in my mailbox!! At 4:20 of this vid he get's \//\I-like as only Mike can do..he always blows my mind, and Joe, Bryan, Griff and Rick are a dream band!! And btw, holy shizzle....99deg!! Still only high 80's here, lol, and make sure you drink lot's of water!!!!

Skippygirl: Godspeed to your friend Neil, I hope they can do what needs to be done, and Happy Birthday to the Queen! :-)

yeah, she's gorgeous!! i missed last night's episode so i'll have to check Letterman's site, hopefully there's another video.

i'm such a dummy... Mike Mangini the new DT drummer. i thought i didn't know who he was but i saw him live in 2000 playing drums for Steve Vai. darn memory DOH!

Austin - i don't get why people buy their cds? it's one thing to have influences, it's another to not have your own sound pffft

Joe Satriani i'm with Skippygirl, would love to see you down here again!! new album is my fav. since Crystal Planet. please play at Metro City in Perth if/when you tour Oz again, better venue. i'm a FREO person but Metro Freo is not a good enough venue for you and your fans! \m/

Hi joe, i was just thinking about "dreaming #11" since its been almost 23 years since you played that show... It seems to be such an inspired performance and recorded really well, why not release that show in its entirety...? Sorry if this has been discussed before, just a thought from a lifelong fan. -bill
