The Haircut

One day a florist went to a barber for a haircut. After the cut, he asked about his bill, and the barber replied, 'I cannot accept money from you, I'm doing community service this week.'

The florist was pleased and left the shop. When the barber went to open his shop the next morning, there was a 'thank you' card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.

Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replied, 'I cannot accept money from you , I'm doing community service this week.'

The cop was happy and left the shop. The next morning when the barber went to open up, there was a 'thank you' card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door.

Then a Congressman came in for a haircut, and when he went to pay his bill, the barber again replied, 'I can not accept money from you.

I'm doing community service this week.' The Congressman was very happy and left the shop. The next morning, when the barber went to open up, there were a dozen Congressmen lined up waiting for a free haircut.

And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between the citizens of our country and the politicians who run it.

BOTH POLITICIANS AND DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON!

Thanks Zinc! Those things are GREAT! The burnt biscuits one the other day was a real nice reminder.

Something awesome happened this morning! I had my very first Joe dream! I've had a couple of Les Claypool dreams, one Buckethead and one Frank Zappa (all of which were absolutely incredible!) but this Joe dream was really special. He was hanging out here at our house, he was sitting in my computer chair looking through my music collection (physical and digital) and we were talking.
I asked him a question that I've been wanting to ask him for some time now concerning That1Guy. In the liner notes for his first album (Let's Hear That1Guy) Mike says: "The primary instruments used on this recording, were the predecessor to the magic pipe, the one string “evil” bass and a 1970’s oberheim drum machine (that at one time may, or may not have belonged to Joe Satriani)."
I forget to ask Mike every time I see him so I thought that maybe I'd just ask Joe and see if he knows what that's all about. In the dream he didn't get around to answering, he was busy checking out some music, I really wish I could recall what it was that he was listening to, all I know is that it was something unfamiliar.
I woke up quite ecstatic. I'm a lucid dreaming enthusiast (have been for almost 20 years) aka: an oneironaut, so I put a lot of stock in my dreams. When I read Joe's explanation of Dream Song I was very excited to hear it and hear more about it.
Maybe I'll get a chance to ask Joe for REAL in December in Montréal.

Any other "dreamers" up in here?

smooches,
» Phy³

Zinc Meister - I was beginning to think you were slipping, i'd heard slightly different versions years ago, but the 'community service' story cracked me up! Have a beer on me.

A beer or 7 sounds like a great idea - but I need to get home first.

Not slipping - just kinda busy again. Plus I only get good things to pass on once in a while.

Zincmaster, an oldie but a goodie. November 2nd let's take out the Obamatron Komrades trash.

The Obambas and Oprah were flying over the country one day when Oprah decided to throw a thousand dollar bill out of the plane. BHO asks why she would do that. She replies, "I just made the one person who finds that, very happy".

BHO says he can throw ten hundred dollar bills off the plane and make ten people happy.

Michelle says she could throw a hundred ten dollar bills off the plane and make a hundred people happy.

The pilot tells his co pilot, " I could throw these three morons off the plane and make millions of people happy"!

Clearly my signed CD from Sony is being sent by canoe. The email notice said it was shipped 29 September and its now 20 October. The shipping cost I had to pay was USD $16 imagine what the cost would be to fly it here in a reasonable time.

Hey Joe!
The main melody in "Wind in theTrees". Are you using a Harmomizer or are you just doing the flutter technique with the wah?

Dream3 - yeah just my luck something has gone wrong. I've emailed them via the webform at the Satriani Store site let's hope a human actually reads it and answers. Funny how they charged my credit card in a flash when I ordered back in August.....

Joe - enjoy your day off.

Dont you just hate it when you lose your house keys and nobody anywhere is answering their phone... so you have to sleep in the front of a cold van...... lmao

Scuba - mate, that sounds VERY familiar. Hope your'e ok, where were the paramedics etc?

Peace Lilly - slightly lonely as none of my possible guests could make it : ( pinched nerve, ouch, hope it's easing with the pills

Marktaylor - hope you got some great video and manage to upload it to youtube for everyone

Dream3 - I'm not feeling the love mate

Climber - yup, what he (Blue Moon) said

Joe had feedback issues again tonight, like he did in Manchester and didn't appear to be a happy chap. Mick appeared to be "in discussion" about that too.

Didn't stop them all kicking ass though - more later
