LOST

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below.

She shouted to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're 30 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude."

She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Democrat."

"I am," replied the man.??"How did you know?"

"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me."

The man smiled and responded, "You must be a Republican."

"I am," replied the balloonist.

"How did you know?"

"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, then you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met but, somehow, now it's my fault."

962- when you said (about UK involvement in Iraq) "...we didn't have to get involved, it was our choice..."

It was TONY'S choice only, not the people's though. So you could say now Tony has even more blood on his hands?

Mari- Hi! Hope you are ok...

Slanshroom- LOL!

962 - yup.... al-Q is a cancer... and needs to be cut out..

ocps - hahaa... take a little look at history............

Islam has had 'empires'...

The Ottoman Turks... 800 years worth....

and Mohammed himself was quite the general, responcible for crusades of his own....

does that make them Imperialist Crusaders???? lmao...

I guess not... pots and kettles.... lol...

alexandre - no info on Portugal gigs..... for this to happen we'd need to find a local promoter....

if something happened in Portugal or Spain I'll shout bro..

yoda - wise words mate... lol...
cuth / ocps - I've been reading and thinking a little about the whole middle east thing.....

the whole area has been kicking-off since before Iraq, Iran, Israel, Syria etc etc existed......

long before the Christian Crusades of the 12th C and 13th C
even before Rome more than 1,000 years before.....
the whole region has just about the longest history of war and instability there is... several thousand years worth...
long long before Islam...

conflict after conflict... one thing followed by another...

it makes for interesting reading... and may help explain the attitudes of today....

vfr - lol..... Hitler switched to bombing the cities during the Battle of Britain to pound the population into submition... I think the objective was to cause a popular uprising against the government, through the nation into turmoil.. make for an easy invasion....

but he miscalculated hugely... the population dug in their heels..
became more resolute...

When Ceaser invaded Britain.. the Romans were actually afraid of the Britons...
these mysterious people, fanatical fighters, tough and resourceful.... he tried and failed twice.....

Clarky I suspect that 14 INT and the SAS / SBS got a few new lil' jobs this morning.....

if al-Q ain't scared of that... they fucking should be...

never a truer word said bro....
being offline for the last few days has killed me.... not being able to read anything (my tv gets no channels - everything came second or third hand)... i bought a paper today a literally cried while reading it in a shopping centre.... and their coverage was sparse at best.....
Alexandre I remember! We will sort it out one day! I'm sure! Take care my friend :-)
regarding the London thing, all I can think is to quote from a book I read today (yes! all in one day lol):
Question: What Can A Thoughtful Man Hope For Mankind on Earth, Given the Experience of the Past Million Years?

Answer: Nothing.

Brother al...it looks to me like it could be 1 of 4 things or a combination of 2 or 3 ,,,lol

#1. The coating on your trem unit had somthing on it before it was coated..IE...oil or a substance that was not compatible w/the black oxide dipping. #2. After time the Black Oxide soulition breaks down in the dipping bin, which would not make the metal friendly w/the oxide..either of the 2 would cause sweat to bring out the natural reaction of the metal which is rust. #3. You've had your hand where it should not be. "NOT GOING TO COMENT ON THAT" #4. You dont clean your gear,,Maybe try a FRIENDLY cleaner..looks to me that you rest your picking hand on the trem unit abit?? Also...metals are weired,,you just might have a bad batch of trem unit....meaning the metal has a bad mix to it.. I hope this helps you & by the way,,not trying to be a SMARTASS w/ the hand comment..DAKOOK

Chutbert - "US administrations have exhibited imperial leanings and have taken corresponding actions for over a century now and, regardless how loathesome the response, the only fix to the issue is to look at the root cause; these people are not bombing London or New York because they hate "freedom"; they hate not being left the hell alone to solve their own problems."

i agree.

i guess imperial leanings is the best way to put it.....u took the words right out of my head

this was yet another rude awakening. surprisingly, no one is aware of the terror attack on India just the day before the london blasts (on the 6th)....& when we screamed our throats out about terrorism for the last ...over 25 yrs....no one gave a damn! .......everyone's soooo isolated from the rest-of-the-world's reality

it's just a matter of respect .....

Clarky:Yip some history, while i was travelling the silk road in Uzbekistan i often wondered how interesting it would be archeology there, maybe when i,m so old, limp & can only hold a brush, lol

Starting Kung Fu classes again in 2 weeks, waving goodbye to fags & beer cept for family gatherings when the fuse burns low & meeting friends not seen in a long while, time for change, they say wisdom comes with age, i dont buy that, wisdom to me comes from making an effort to learn from another, killing my ignorance softly, so much to learn, so little time

VFRrocker:Just had to vent & get rid of that anger bro,man when i heard Bush & co were doing business with the taliban years ago, i sat back & stared numb at the sky. I know,i know, its politicians, but the taliban! The guys that feed the world heroin! I dont have words, back to vent on the guitar, i,m off t buy a few sets of strings, maybe need a new guitar b4 the day is through, close mouth, energy HOT

Zenfish:Bro if they think cancelling debt with some parts of Africa is going to sweeten the pot & change my view of these low lifes, they got another thing coming, chances are the rich will benifit more anyway instead of the needy, my sights are set, the day the U.S. impeach Bush & the UK get rid of Blair will be a happy day. The U.S. & UK are good people mostly, piloted by a couple of wankers, The problem is, who do we replace these people with?Any ideas?

Cuth:Any ideas? Now that i think of it, if i win the lottery take it, you know your rights & are well learnt, why dont you run?I,d back y bro

Cuth for president

svk:why the attacks on India?extend that gas pipe through India & stop at New Delhi, build that mother to suck in Dabhol
