ah sorry man misunderstood ya there, but yeah, Vai is great :-)

I've just been contacted by a band in the making, but to play bass and not guitar...which is cool I don't mind.

I'm meeting the guy friday to show them what I can do, hopefully I'm good enough for the band.

Hi everyone... Sorry for being quiet lately...I've been busy getting over a cold, writing a few papers, and finishing up some final projects. Fun stuff...

I owe emails to a few people here...hopefully I can get to them tonight.

Well, I have 17 pages to get through...

First... A few people were wondering why Steve Vai's Whispering A Prayer was nominated for a Grammy... The version that was nominated was actually from the G3 album and not Alive In An Ultra World. This happened with Joe a few years ago, when Always... from LISF was nominated.
punkdude75 - I know you posted this several days ago, but I had to respond anyway...I can't believe no one else here said anything. Yeah, I think Ani DiFranco is awesome. Her music is amazing.

Unauthorized duplication, though sometimes necessary, is never as good as the real thing.

;-)

S470FOF (and others) - You can get Tumble through Apple's iTunes. Dog With Crown And Earring is only available on the Japanese version of ITLIS?...

It is cheaper for people living in Japan (and Europe, sometimes) to buy a CD imported from the United States instead of buying the same CD created locally. This causes problems because Japanese and European sales are then actually considered US sales. It screws up Billboard charts, gold and platinum rankings, and so on... So...to encourage Japanese people to buy locally-created albums, record companies add an extra song or two to them...

Zinc Master - I loved Craig Ferguson on The Drew Carey Show... It'll be cool to see him on The Late Late Show, now... Woohoo!
evaneezer - The Fillmore is mostly "standing room only". If you have general admission tickets, you'll be on the general admission floor.
Ummm - Joe uses Dunlop Crybaby wah pedals.
cuthbert1776 - "What do the rest of you think?  Good or bad suggestion?"

I'm a few days late with this, but oh well...

I think an auto-refresh feature would be annoying. I occasionally read T2J while watching television (like this afternoon...I was reading and watching football), so it sometimes takes me more than a few minutes (5, 10, 15, whatever the refresh rate would be) to get through a page. Having the page refresh while I'm reading a post would drive me crazy... ;-)

Now, though, I'm wondering why you thought of the suggestion... Do you keep T2J open all day while you're at work, do you make posts before you mark things as read, or...?

The Farting Gnome (and others) - The "chrome" on Joe's new guitar is actually aluminum.
Noppa - Welcome back...

"I'll get back to youabout Dave Mathews Band...still need that time gap to write down mythoughts about those tunes"

Cool...I'll be looking forward to your post.

migupais - Welcome back to you, too... :-)

...Austin...

These people must not know there are REAL issues in life ~

WARNING, THIS POST CONTAINS THE F-WORD~~ gimme a break!

Wal-Mart Stores Inc., which promotes itself as a seller of clean music, deceived customers by stocking compact discs by the rock group Evanescence that contain the f-word, a lawsuit claims.

The hit group's latest CD and DVD, "Anywhere But Home," don't carry parental advisory labels alerting potential buyers to the obscenity. If they did, Wal-Mart wouldn't carry them, according to the retailer's policy.

But the lawsuit claims Wal-Mart knew about the explicit lyrics in the song, "Thoughtless," because it censored the word in a free sample available on its Web site and in its stores.

The complaint, filed Thursday in Washington County Circuit Court, seeks an order requiring Wal-Mart to either censor or remove the music from its Maryland stores.

It also seeks damages of up to $74,500 for each of the thousands of people who bought the music at Wal-Marts in Maryland.

"I don't want any other families to get this, expecting it to be clean. It needs to be removed from the shelves to prevent other children from hearing it," said plaintiff Trevin Skeens of Brownsville.

Skeens said he and his wife, Melanie, let their daughter buy the music for her 13th birthday and were shocked when they played it in their car while driving home.

Wal-Mart, of Bentonville, Ark., has no immediate plans to pull the CDs from its shelves, spokesman Guy Whitcomb told The (Hagerstown) Herald-Mail. He said the company will investigate the allegations. No hearing dates have been set.

"While Wal-Mart sets high standards, it would not be possible to eliminate every image, word or topic that an individual might find objectionable," Whitcomb told the newspaper.

He told the Herald-Mail that the song sample online was censored by Walmart.com, a separate division of Wal-Mart.

Whitcomb didn't return telephone calls Friday from The Associated Press.

The lawsuit also names as defendants Wind-up Records LLC, the New York-based company that recorded the music and decided not to apply parental-advisory stickers; and distributor BMG Entertainment, a subsidiary of Sony BMG Music Entertainment, of New York.

Sony BMG declined to comment on the lawsuit. Wind-up didn't return calls from the AP.

The Skeens' lawyer, Jon D. Pels of Bethesda, said he aims to "take this case national, even if that means going state by state."

He dismissed Whitcomb's suggestion that Wal-Mart stores didn't know about the censored version of the song. "They are a multimillion-dollar corporation and they certainly can communicate among their various entities," he said.

THAT'S THE STUPIDEST F'IN THING EVER! There is a war going on, there are people being killed, raped, people are starving, and these fucking idiots are pissing and moaning about their kids hearing the work FUCK! FUCK THAT! THERE'S A MONITARY DAMAGE AWARD FOR YOUR FRIGGIN' KID HEARING A STUPID SWEAR WORD THAT only MEANS WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT. F'in pansy ass over protective money hungry bastards need to find something else like a REAL issue to take a stand about.

Take the cd back to the store and shut the F*** up!

ahem, I feel better now :)

I will now return you to your regularly scheduled program ;-)

Steve T - The website looks great. The graphics are very tastey. Here is my feedback.
I don't know if this can be helped but, the load speed is slow. The discography section took (and I used a stopwatch) 1:30 to load fully. The Photo section took about 55 seconds. Oh, and I'm on broadband.
I also agree with Cheese 101 in that the font size is too small. I had to squint to read it. Currently my screen is set at 1152 X 864 if that helps at all.
I hope that this helps you out. BTW it's nice to see another old guy bumpin' around the site. Lookin forward to the finished product.
Late.
Matt

Some people just can't seem to get over the fact that they are just words. A group of vocalizations that have been some meaningfor some reason that people feel offended by them. It's stupid. It could have been Blue, or Whale for that matter. Just stupidity. Fuck!

Jazzy, thanx for posting that message from Dave Mustaine, he really seems like a changed man.

Everytime I go to the Megadeth forums...just to view, not post, it always says "there are no posts in this forum." I know that can't be correct because there are lots of members and the forums have been up for many months. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to become a member to view the posts?

Civgeek, Yoda, thanks. lol! That sort of thing REALLY pisses me off. First of all, the kid is 13 years old. If she hasn't heard the word FUCK yet, well then there's a fucking problem. lol! If hearing the word FUCK on one song on one cd is going to damage her for life, just put a pillow over her precious little head now because it only gets worse from here. Kids that are sheltered like that usually go buck wild in the long run and wind up being the kids you tell YOUR kids to watch out for! lmao! Once she gets old enough to make her own decisions, she'll be one of two things - a social retard who is not knowing and afraid of everything, or a wild child who wants to get in trouble as much as possible to piss her parents off. I understand not wanting your kids to have explicit lyrics on their cd's. I have no problem with that. If it happens, you just return the cd, and that's the end of it. These assholes are taking out a lawsuit. Yeah, that's really teaching the kid something, isn't it? Personally, I have an ICP cd that I bought for my son when he was 10 or 11. I figured there was swearing on it, but I had no idea what the lyrics were. After hearing it playing in his room about a week after he had it, I snagged it from him, told him I was sorry I didn't realize the content of the cd before I bought it for him (although he knew it - lol!), and away it went to my husbands desk drawer. Swearing is no big deal, but all the sexual stuff like f'ing and sucking was a bit much for a 10 year old. It's still the only cd I have ever censored either of my kids from. I didn't sue anyone, or go back and blame the damn store. I just put the cd away! As a matter of fact, it's still in the desk! lol! I guess it's a shame I couldn't have gotten $74,500 for it. I might be able to sell it on eBay for a buck-fitty. Damn, what a difference a sticker makes, huh?

Holy shit, I just searched and seen that it's a remake of the KORN song - Thoughtless. *bangs head on desk* lmao!! It also mentions a dirty ass, killing, and rape, but that didn't offend? It was the WHAT THE FUCK? statement that sent them over the edge. ROTF!!! *bangs head on desk again* LMAO!!

"Why are you trying to make fun of me? You think it's funny? What the fuck you think it's doing to me? You take your turn lashing out at me I want you crying when you're dirty ass in front of me

All of my hate cannot be found I will not be bound by your thoughtless scheming oh, you can try to tear me down Beat me to the ground I will see you screaming

Come and fill the pages of my fantasies I'm above you, smiling at you, drown, drown, drown I wanna kill and rape you the way you raped me And I'll pull the trigger And you're down, down, down"

Did anyone watch The Simpsons tonight? I think this season sucks. Ugh.

michelle - I don't think this particular case has anything to do with whether or not that word is okay. It looks more like some lawyer is just jumping at the chance to take millions of dollars from Wal-Mart.

A lawsuit won't solve anything...
