Cuth - I wasn't using capitolist in a derogatory sense. Only stating that Namm's views are more right tended then some others (ie me). Yes you have the right to sell a comodity but is it the right thing to do from a karma stand point. If the guy got the passes for free and can't use them the right thing to do would be to pass them on to someone that can. Do unto others...I'm just a firm believer in good gestures come back 10 fold. And people who try to get over do not get my respect. As for picks and other stuff if there is an idiot that is going to pay good hard earned cash for something that is his/her parents fault. I never really understood the whole collector thing. Like the guy the other day that payed all that money for a dime. Granted it was a early pressing but still it is a dime. One tenth of a dollar. That's all I would pay for it. I hope the rambling makes sense.

The person who is pissed off at the guy who is selling is the passes seems to be a little diappointed that he/she didnt win :(

Looking over the dictionary Benny posted earlier, I came across this. The term is funny as hell, but somehow just doesn't get the same response in Pennsylvania. LMAO!!

map of Tasmania noun the female pubic area. Also, map of Tassie.

Just how would that go in a conversation between mates?

"Oh, looka there mate! I'd like ta get a looka that map of Tassie!"

That's just to frickin' funny.

STACE, how'd ya think that would go over up in Boston?? lol!

Michelle: I have no idea what was the cause of the crap at the HOB. One of the "authorized personel" came out of a side door, and someone asked him "yo man, when you gone open da bleepin' doors man!" to which he resonded "the doors are supposed to be open" hahaah! It's crazy, I mean, if Vai knew we were standing out in the rain, I'm sure he would have been okay with HOB openning the doors an hour early. I don't think he would want fans standing getting drenched.

I'm all the time bitching about how the Southeast is a veritable quagmire for decent concerts. So lo and behold, the Ozzfest 2005 tour dates are announced. Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath headlining.....two of my all time favorite bands. Veritable metal gods......and not one, but TWO dates (DC and Charlotte) within reasonable driving distance! So I'm on Cloud 9.

*sigh*

The very next day, word comes that "oh sorry....Maiden won't be on the last seven tour dates". Which includes Charlotte, NC.

Ever feel like a little kid that just had his Christmas gift taken away? : (

Hum, $100 on clothes, depending on where you went shopping, you could have a lot of clothes, a few new clothes, or a pair of socks.

I went into some store in Chicago once, forgot which store right now, was on Michigan Avenue - they had mens socks - one pair (2 socks) = $49.00 - I forgot what they were made of, must have been good socks. I get mine in a 6 pack for a few bucks.

I've nearly finished a track I want to put on an album I'm making for friends (if they want it ofcourse)...the track is called "The Sea Of Japan" and is kind of like "prodigy meets fat kid who shreds" :-)

Haven't finished it yet but it's coming along nicely..*touchwood*

ocps - my drums are sampled into a Korg Triton.... and they don't come for a sample CD either....

I recorded my drummers kit drum by drum...

the snare is a mixture of my drummer's one and Alan White's snare [which I sampled from the Yessongs album]
the toms come from my drummer's kit and a mixed with Alan White's toms too
the kick drum is a combination of something like 3 different kicks... my drummer's one, Alan White's one and a synthetic one [to add the deep tone
the crash, ride and china cymbals I sampled from a U220.. they're pretty crap when you hear them in isolation, but 'in the mix' I quite like them
the bell of the cymbal comes from my drummers kit
the hi-hats, sticks, cowbell, block, some other cymbals came with the Triton

the real trick though is in the programming..... that's what makes them sound organic...

this kick would work for funk too... I know this because I've done it before... all I need to do is to retune and re-eq the toms and snare - all a little higher pitched with less bottom end and more top... a lighter and more sparkley tone]... and use less compression all round
I also have the option to change out the snare for something lighter like a piccolo snare...
again... it's really all in the programming and pruduction...
for writing the drum sequencies I use Cubase...
I love programming drums... tons of fun...

so yeah... it's pretty easy to adapt the kit...
the kit is configured to replicate one with double kick, snare, 8 toms - 2 floor, 4 mounted and 2 roto's, hats, 2 crashes, 3 rides [all with the option of playing on the bell of the cybmal - I love that sound], 2 china's, 1 splash, 2 cowbells, 2 blocks, gong, church bell
basically your standard huge 1970's prog rockers set up.. lmao...

also I have orchestral, Latin, Indian, Gamalan and African percussion...

the kit used in Shredz is the same as used in Our Blood...

for the 2nd album... I'm not sure.... I'm toying with the idea of building a newer, bigger, better kit.. one with a more modern tone... and if it sounds crap I can still fall back on the one I have no - which I like very much..

zen - I know that you are not one to be confined by convention...... which is why I wondered if you'd ever tried learning music writen for instruments other than guitar...

it's a worthwhile thing to try out.... because of the mechanics of other instruments is so different... you find that the licks that fall nicely under the fingers for those guys can often be very different on guitar....
the most obvious example is piano.. they can't bend notes... so they have to play little slurs.....

try working out some sax or piano solos on your guitar....
can be very difficult..
but very rewarding...

I am particular about my socks. But no way for that price.

I may have a few dollars, but not to spend on socks. I would rather buy a cd, dvd or save it for a rainy day.

Des Curly I agree, that's horrible how someone who won passes is selling them, they even tell you that if you can't use them or make it, let them know so they can "give" them to someone else, not sell them. Especially since so many people really hope they will win passes to meet Satch, you got some one who won them and is selling them to make some money for themselves. I believe if anyone really wants to meet Joe, I'm pretty sure there are tickets that you can buy to meet him, not give your highest offer to some one who is trying to make money off of something they got for free and many try to get. That person is wasting a pass, or did you say they were selling both, same thing though, that's wrong. I won 2 aftershow passes for when I see Vai in like barely 2 weeks, I am using the one pass, and wasn't sure if my dad was going to go along too, but if he wasn't, I was going to give my 2nd pass to marimarisrv (sorry if I spelled you username wrong), I definitly would not even tried asking for any amount of money or anything in return for it. *DEFINITLY* report the person to the webmaster! Good thing you didn't post up a name on here, that would have just started another one of the many little "fights" you see going on on here.

Mari- my dad is going, just letting you know, once he found out that I won the passes he has been asking me about it, pretty funny. Sorry I couldn't have helped you out, but you said Dave came through for you.
